Coastal World Review

Editorial policy

Coastal World Review aims to make coastal subjects clear without making them seem simpler than they are. We distinguish explanation from interpretation and make uncertainty visible when it matters.

Accuracy and clarity

We check factual claims against suitable reference material and review names, terms and explanations for clarity. Articles are edited to keep their scope clear; a general account of coastal processes should not be mistaken for a description of every local shore or a substitute for current local information.

Independence and corrections

Editorial decisions are made for reader value, not to guarantee favourable coverage. If a reader identifies a material error, we assess it and correct the relevant text, with an explanation where the change affects a reader's understanding. Readers can send correction requests through the Contact page.

Partner material

Paid partnerships and other partner contributions are identified clearly where they appear. They are kept distinct from independent editorial coverage, and a partnership does not promise a particular editorial conclusion or inclusion in an article.

Illustrations

Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Where that applies, the illustration is labelled; illustrative images are not presented as documentary records of a real place or event.

Our outlook

A shoreline is never just a line

Coasts are made of movement, material and living relationships. Looking carefully at their details helps us read both the landscape and the changes taking place within it.
