Write for us
Coastal World Review welcomes proposals for clear, original writing about shoreforms, coastal materials, tides and weather, habitats or human uses of the coast. Send proposals through the Contact page.
What makes a useful pitch
Propose one well-defined subject and explain the question your piece will answer, why a general reader might care and what distinct angle you would bring. A strong pitch has a manageable scope, makes room for variation between coasts and offers a clear route from opening idea to useful ending.
The kinds of work we welcome
We consider explanatory features, thoughtful comparisons, accounts of coastal history and observation-led pieces grounded in a specific kind of place or experience. We are interested in precise writing that separates established facts from personal interpretation and gives readers a reason to look more closely.
Before sending
Please include a working title, a short outline and a brief description of your relevant experience with the subject. Do not send confidential material, unsupported claims or a complete draft unless requested. We cannot promise publication, and all proposals are sent through the Contact page.
A shoreline is never just a line
Coasts are made of movement, material and living relationships. Looking carefully at their details helps us read both the landscape and the changes taking place within it.
